The short version, mateys: This Saturday, October 24 at 6 PM, the Guinness Open Gate Brewery (5001 Washington Blvd, Halethorpe) hosts a free Halloween double feature of Ghostbusters and Sleepy Hollow — with the Charm City Ghostbusters themselves on site. And since the brewery closes its gates for good after November 1, this be one of the last hurrahs.
⚓ More from the Community deck: all of the Captain’s community coverage.
All good things must come to an end, and the Captain raises a pint to one of the finest: after eight years and more than two million visitors, the Guinness Open Gate Brewery pours its last public pints after November 1. But before the gates swing shut, there’s one more spooky sendoff worthy of the place.
Saturday’s Halloween Movie Night is pure Baltimore magic. Camp out on the brewery lawn for back-to-back screenings of Ghostbusters and Sleepy Hollow, grab eats and drinks from the food truck and outdoor bar, and keep an eye out for the Charm City Ghostbusters — yes, the local crew with their very own Ectomobiles — snapping photos and showing off their paranormal gear, per tradition (via Baltimore Magazine).
The Captain’s orders:
- When: Saturday, October 24, 6 PM
- Where: Guinness Open Gate Brewery, 5001 Washington Blvd, Halethorpe, MD 21227

- Why go: It’s one of the final events ever at the brewery. Don’t miss the boat.
The Captain ain’t afraid of no ghost — but he is sentimental about a proper farewell. See ye on the lawn. — The Captain 🏴☠️👻
