Anduril Announces $3.7B Shipyard Investment at Sparrows Point, 3,100+ New Jobs

The Baltimore region just landed its biggest economic catch in over a decade. On October 6, the State of Maryland and Baltimore County announced that Anduril Industries will invest $3.7 billion in Arsenal-2, a new two-million-square-foot software-defined shipyard at Tradepoint Atlantic in Sparrows Point.

The facility will expand America’s submarine industrial base and is expected to support more than 14,000 jobs, including the creation of over 3,100 new permanent jobs. All told, the project is expected to deliver more than $2 billion in annual economic output, including an estimated $312 million in wages each year.

Governor Wes Moore called it the largest single private investment and the largest job creator in Maryland in over a decade — a new chapter for Sparrows Point’s storied industrial waterfront.
