All hands on deck for good news on York Road! Loyola University Maryland cut the ribbon October 14 on the new Loyola Community Center at 5104 York Road — and the whole neighborhood’s invited aboard.
The renovated building houses the university’s Center for Neighborhood Resilience with 2,500 square feet of new office space, plus a multipurpose venue for community clinics, youth workforce programs, and the PATH Community Fair. It’ll also host a Baltipreneurs Accelerator entrepreneur and the York Road Partnership. Backed by more than $1.2M in federal and state funds plus foundation grants, the project keeps sailing: a neighboring building is slated for sustainability and food-equity renovations, including the Govans Farmers Market and a Community Fridge.
