Ahoy, Baltimore — the city’s innovation scene just got a serious boost! TEDCO, Maryland’s economic engine for technology companies, announced the third round of its Equitech Growth Fund awards during the 2026 Entrepreneur Expo, and three Baltimore City projects are bringing home a combined $1,665,205.
The Baltimore City winners are MelaTech, which received $415,205 in the infrastructure category; Riggle Capital, which received $1,000,000 for infrastructure; and NPower Inc., which received $250,000 for workforce development. Statewide, the round awarded $4,327,579 across nine projects — $3,615,205 for infrastructure and $712,374 for workforce development — after drawing a record 136 applications, a 45% increase over last year.
TEDCO says the nine projects together are expected to create over 240 jobs, offer industry-recognized credentials to 1,000 job seekers, provide technical training to 1,500 Marylanders, and support 100 entrepreneurs. “These investments represent more than funding. They represent new opportunities for Marylanders to gain skills, launch careers and participate in the state’s growing innovation economy,” said TEDCO CEO Troy LeMaile-Stovall.
The Equitech Growth Fund was established by the Maryland General Assembly in 2023 to invest in infrastructure and workforce development, with a goal of making Maryland a top-ten fastest-growing innovation state by 2040. Learn more about the fund at TEDCO.
