The short version, mateys: The Nevermore Haunt at 450 Mott St in Old Town is open this Friday, October 23, from 7–10 PM — a Poe-soaked haunted house inside a 19th-century warehouse, with sideshow acts, an outdoor bar pouring local craft beer, food trucks, and free on-site parking. Friday is an Orange Night: $34 general admission, $49 fast-pass, $67 VIP. Tickets cost the same online or at the door.
👻 More from the Weird deck: all of the Captain’s weird Baltimore coverage.
Quoth the Captain: go. Consistently rated among Maryland’s best haunted houses, Nevermore weaves undead factory workers, drowned sailors, and deranged visions of a Baltimore long forgotten through the historic Isaac Benson Sons Furniture Warehouse. The themes draw straight from Edgar Allan Poe and the city’s own macabre history — this is a haunt that could only exist here.
Between scares, the midway keeps ye entertained: sideshow performers (including local strongman Hot Todd Lincoln, tarot readings, bizarre clowns, and a touch of magic), plus the outdoor bar and a rotating lineup of local food trucks. Fourteen nights in October, rain or shine — though the queue is outdoors, so dress for the weather.
Fair warning, as the haunt itself says: this is not for children or the faint of heart. Children under 4 feet tall are not admitted, and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are all sales final, and the line moves in loading groups — buy online and check in at the booth for yer wristband.
